Alico mountain

In this activity, our destination will be the Summit of Alico, an emblematic hill that gives rise to the name of the town of San Fabián de Alico. From the plaza there is a clear view of the hill, characterized by its medium height (1260 meters above sea level) in addition to being entirely covered by native vegetation. On the trail, a great diversity of trees, birds and beautiful views will accompany us to its summit, from where you have a very beautiful view of the Chillán volcanic complex with its active volcano, Ñuble river, the town of San Fabián de Alico and hills around.

We will meet in the Plaza de San Fabián to take advantage of knowing part of its history and milestones. After that we will walk east to the Piedras valley, and then we will enter the “Fundo Alico”. From there we will follow the main path that goes around the north slope of Alico. In much of this journey we will be able to see the majestic Malalcura mountain and its granite peaks. After a journey of approximately 3.5 kilometers and a altitude gain of 250 meters, we will make a stop to rest, drink water and eat something light. Then we will travel a further 3.5 kilometers until we reach the summit, where a beautiful panoramic view of the valley will welcome us, this being our place to have lunch, contemplate the view and rest for a few minutes. Later we will go down the same path uphill.
